Everyday Authority

This piece explores the notion of authority and how it is seen in our everyday lives. The eeriness to this sound piece demonstrates the strict and dominating nature of  ‘authority’. Although we may not acknowledge it, we are exposed to authority figures that influence the way we are controlled and commanded. The sounds involved represent the moving from one environment to the other and juxtapose the machine and mechanical sounds to the natural ones such as the barking of the dogs and the dripping of the water. These show the influence machine and technological life has over the natural environment we participate in. Subconsciously we are allowing aspects of our daily lives to be controlled, we have given the power away to these machines and without knowing it we follow the orders of others.
